ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer.

The Building Engineer supports the designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The Building Engineer will also respond to customer requests and submit and close work orders as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

    • ABLE Services is seeking an Entry – Mid Level Engineer Midwest , to join our team. 
    • The Entry – Mid Level Engineer will complete assigned simple yet effective preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and other equipment, systems, or structures. Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities. Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary. Assists in emergencies as needed.

      Essential Functions
    • The position is for an entry-level engineer.  Non-Union, Standard benefits thru ABLE/ABM.  The wage ranges from the mid $50's a year (Day Shift Monday Thru Friday)
    • Experience that is equal to the specific facility for the position of Engineer.
    • Prefer 3+ years of progressive operations experience.
    • Strong employee relation skills, coaching skills, and training skills.
    • Preferred, relevant state/local license for stationary engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license.
    • BOMA-accredited courses are desirable.
    • Preferred: High-rise Fire Safety Director, Haz-Mat Certification, Indoor Air Quality Certification, LEED Certification.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Computer skills and building automation systems experience is required.
    • Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as needed.
    • Working knowledge of energy conservation is required, formal training preferred
