Process Planner
As a Process Planner you will be responsible for authoring, dispatching, and revising work instructions for all phases of RS1 fleet operations that includes GSE and tooling in various locations across the El Segundo Campus. You will also be responsible for planning and scheduling support from internal support teams and external vendors


    • Create, revise, and maintain planning documents to produce components and assemblies that conform to design and specifications
    • Interface with engineering, quality, supply chain, production, and procurement in resolving any hold factors inhibiting the release of plans
    • Work with technicians on the floor and engineering to develop standard operating procedures for critical process in the factory.
    • Support the release of engineering change orders to maintain planning to the latest controlled revision
    • Maintain accurate configuration of assemblies (BOMs). Ensure accurate lead times, and inventory levels (including spares) to mitigate risk of production piece part shortages
    • Interpret technical documents in regard to manufacturing, assemblies, database systems, and processes to create accurate planning
    • Validate and ensure latest configurations are maintained throughout the manufacturing cycle
    • Prioritize workloads based on schedules provided
    • Signal purchasing team to place new orders, and collaborate on supplier fulfillment
    • Effectively use support groups and follow-up on open work orders to resolve constraints or problems
    • Strategize efficient methods of task execution while understanding operational impacts of all activities
    • Create and maintain time estimates for all work content and incorporate into the overall RS1 fleet schedule
    • Provide input into near term and long term RS1 fleet scheduling
    • Assist fleet engineering team with process improvement projects
    • Maintain accuracy and audit bill of materials in MRP systems in preparation for production at rate
    • Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality organizations to determine change cut in and reduce obsolescence of material and eliminate/reduce quality issues
    • Interface with the quality and inventory teams to ensure that non-conforming material is promptly removed from the line and contained properly


    • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
    • 1+ years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in reading blueprints


    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
    • Experience working with ERP and MRP systems
    • Experience with Microsoft applications
    • Experience with and ability to use or interpret CAD models and engineering drawings
    • Experience with metallic manufacturing techniques, processes, equipment, and other processes such as casting, machining, welding, tube bending, and structural assembly
    • Experience in reading blueprints
    • Experience in a high production automotive or aviation manufacturing industry
    • Strong prioritization skills
    • Able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives
    • Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency
    • Able to work well in a team environment including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers
    • Ongoing drive for continuous improvement in all aspects of work


    • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
