Director, Information Technology
The Director of IT has global responsibility for all IT systems, infrastructure, and service delivery processes at ABL Space Systems. You’ll bring your passion and experience managing infrastructure, applications, and service delivery teams to provide top-notch customer service and collaborative solutions supporting ABL’s mission to space. You’ll have responsibility for setting strategic goals, management of budget and resources and the career development of IT staff across all ABL locations, both onsite and at remote launch facilities. You’ll also work closely in collaboration with ABL’s Information Security team to ensure continued compliance with existing and future information security standards and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (workstation and mobile computing systems, on-prem server infrastructure, cloud workloads, networking, business applications and service delivery)
- Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget
- Consult and collaborate with senior-level stakeholders across ABL to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of technology and processes
- Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
- Collaborate closely with ABL’s InfoSec team on deployment of security related systems and processes in a regulated compliance environment
- Ensure and maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of service desk and IT project delivery services
- Champion and get buy-in from key stakeholders across ABL for continuous improvement of technology systems supporting the company’s strategic goals
- Provide direction, guidance, and training to IT staff and management personnel
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
- 3+ years managing leaders or managers with direct reports
- 3+ years experience managing an organization size of 10+ direct or indirect reports
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent understanding of computer systems, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of project management principles
- Experience supporting manufacturing, hardware and software engineering teams
- Experience in aerospace and/or department of defense processes and security frameworks a plus
- Experience managing infrastructure in remote and rugged environments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
- Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $230,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
ITAR Requirement
This position requires access to information protected under US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.
