ENVIRONMENTAL TEST LAB MANAGER 

As an Environmental Test Lab Manager, you will oversee testing operations and ensure the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental test along with proven leadership skills and a commitment to process improvement. These traits will provide the footing to help ABL validate components for flight. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage day-to-day operations of the Environmental Test Lab, including scheduling, performing tests, and interfacing with responsible engineers to deliver complete work
    • Ensure compliance with all test specifications and standards
    • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to standardize workflows and increase efficiency 
    • Guide and supervise lab staff, including technicians and engineers 
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure functionality
    • Support design and analysis report authoring with technical insights
    • Act as the primary technical support for all vibration, shock, and thermal test campaigns and equipment in the lab
    • Provide support for external testing which cannot be completed with equipment already on hand

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent years of work experience in a related field 
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental testing
    • Strong knowledge of vibration, shock, and thermal testing
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

    • 8+ years of professional experience in environmental testing within the Aerospace & Defense industry
    • Breadth of knowledge in environmental test Including but not limited to, salt fog, TVAC, EMI/EMC
    • Dedicated leader and team player who’s excited about ABL’s mission! 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
    • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
$160,000 - $190,000 a year
This is the lowest to highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the compensation range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
