The Role
This role works directly with the Associate Director of Advancement Operations in providing operational support for the membership team and the development department. Functions include gift processing, database management, crediting, research, and reporting.  This role is the direct liaison with ABT’s telefunding vendor and contributes to direct mail operations. The Operations Manager also works across the department to provide budget management and reporting, fulfill data requests, maintain department accounts, provide database training to new staff, and assist in the creation of departmental processes.

Job Responsibilities

    • Serve as key database user and creative-solutions generator for the development team.
    • Export and import data as needed.
    • Assist in data cleanup and maintenance.
    • Work with department leadership to create reports analyzing trends in donor behavior and giving; Offer analysis of data as needed.
    • Research and analyze data from donors to facilitate cultivation opportunities for development.
    • Contribute to solutions and systems that optimize ABT’s data collection.
    • Manage wealth screen software and provide basic research as needed.
    • Provide back-up for the Associate Director of Operations and serve as gift processing backup as needed.
    • Provide research into new partners or platforms as needed.
    • Manage development department expense budget, working across the team to match activities with expenses and ensure the department remains within budget.
    • Communicate with ABT’s Finance team to prioritize invoices and payments to vendors.
    • Reconcile department credit card expenses.
    • Serve as the direct liaison with ABT’s telefunding vendor.
    • Work with department leadership on telefunding strategy and campaign optimization.
    • Provide call leads and suppression data to the vendor.
    • Handle contracting, invoicing, and reporting.
    • Oversee lists are accurately pulled and edited, as well as to communicate directly with vendors.
    • Work directly with the membership team on operational needs of internal and mailings.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3-5 years of experience ideally on a not-for-profit development team
    • Extremely organized
    • Great attention to detail
    • Experience with financial reporting and budget management a plus
    • Able to work on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
    • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge is highly desirable
    • Ability to work evening and weekend hours when required
$60,000 - $70,000 a year
