Academia is looking for a Senior Manager of Public Relations to join our team!

What we're looking for

Your primary role is to tell our story, in a fresh, clear, and consistent way.

The most important skills for a public relations and marketing manager at Academia are:
* Must have a track record of getting coverage for Silicon Valley startups.
* cultivating news coverage: leverage your press relationships and story telling and writing skills to place stories about Academia and its members

You will be Academia's first marketing team hire, so we're looking for people with diverse skills, an ability to prioritize well, and a startup orientation.

Requirements

    • A Senior Manager is expected to have prior experience as a journalist, or PR professional
    • Bachelor's Degree and 7-9 years professional experience.
    • Track record of generating news coverage for Silicon Valley startups.
    • Strong copy writing skills
    • Brand management experience is a plus.
