The Manager – Compliance is responsible for assisting in assuring compliance within the organization and that appropriate policies and procedures are followed. The successful individual will be a self-driven individual who possesses and applies common sense and contributes to overall compliance in the organization. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

•Accomplish department objectives by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work processes and workflows
•Assist in the development, proactive implementation, and monitoring of compliance with procedures, products, regulations and laws that affect the employment screening industry, including but not limited to the Fair Credit Reporting Act
•Analyze internal business processes and systems to ensure compliance with background screening industry regulations 
•Supports internal and external customers by answering compliance questions, resolving problems, and maintaining customer satisfaction by effectively problem-solving 
•Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
•Create compliance educational materials, including internal reference documents and customer-facing blogs and whitepapers
•This hands-on job requires coordination of team responsibilities
•Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to management 
•Evaluate and implement solutions based on management feedback
•Ad hoc tasks and projects provided by management as needed

Responsibilities

    • Manage competing priorities and deliver quality information and analysis while adhering to deadlines 
    • Develop knowledge and understanding of department functions
    • Assess team members and processes to determine compliance and risk and provide recommendations to management
    • Complete all scheduled training and prepare a list of various tasks/processes he/she deems important for the role
    • Performs in-depth and complex research, fact gathering, analysis and interpretation 
    • Prepare reports and presentations by collecting, analyzing, and clearly and concisely summarizing information 
    • Enhance business processes by collecting and analyzing metrics to drive process improvement 
    • Establish, review and report on key metrics related to compliance-based services and performance
    • Use metrics to drive product improvement and establish compliance priorities

Qualifications

    • 7+ years experience in background screening industry management required
    • Education: Paralegal or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree desired. Emphasis on law or compliance administration preferred.
    • Compliance, audit and FCRA experience required
    • Proven management experience and skills, including training, productivity, metrics, and workflow management
    • Solid knowledge of FCRA and background screening requirements, including but not limited to, adverse action, dispute equirements, CRA and End User requirement
    • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task each day to meet schedule demands and complete tasks in a timely manner
    • Effective communication, including content creation and training materials, and conflict resolution
    • Proven troubleshooting and problem solving 
    • Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge
    • Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks without direct supervision
    • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines 
    • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SalesForce) 

$99,000 - $140,000 a year
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,000 - $140,000. Pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education and training.  This position may also be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, commission, or other variable pay plan.
