Arkansas Center for Data Sciences (ACDS) is helping Buf Studio hire an Entry-Level Architectural Drafter / Designer in Bentonville, AR

About the Employer: 
BUF Studio, established in 2019, is a full-service architecture, engineering, and design firm with offices in Bentonville, Arkansas and Springfield, Missouri.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Drafting and Design: Assist in the creation of architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and sections using Revit and other design software.

    • 3D Modeling: Participate in the development of 3D models of buildings and structures to visualize design concepts.

    • Assist in Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, designers, and senior drafters in the development and coordination of design concepts, ensuring they meet project requirements and client expectations.

    • Documentation: Contribute to the preparation of construction documentation, including plans, sections, details, and schedules.

    • Quality Control: Review drawings and models for accuracy and completeness, identifying any inconsistencies or issues for correction.

    • Material and Product Research: Assist in researching and selecting appropriate materials, finishes, and products for projects.

    • Learn Building Codes and Regulations: Familiarize yourself with local building codes and regulations to ensure designs comply with legal requirements.

    • Communication: Participate in team meetings, share ideas, and effectively communicate with colleagues to support project progress.

    • Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software updates, and best practices through training and educational opportunities.

    • Software Proficiency: Further develop your proficiency in Revit and other relevant design software.

What's a successful candidate look like?

    • Revit Certification
    • Understanding of how to use Microsoft Outlook to create calendar invites as well as organizing your workload.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Basic understanding of architectural principles and design concepts
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges
    • A portfolio or samples of work, if available, that demonstrate your skills and creativity

Requirements:

    • Ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for sponsorship
    • Ability to work onsite at office in Bentonville, AR
