Windows, Mac, and Linux. Oh my! You know that feeling you get when you finally troubleshoot a software issue? Or when you level up your RAM and your PC is even more of a beast? Let’s turn that passion into an IT career!

Our Work-Based Learning Program is a three-month internship that places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas in IT support positions to gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor/IT support team. 

Internships are designed as an on-ramp to kick off an IT support career and can roll into full-time positions based on employer demand.

What you'll do

    • Fix things! You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot and support a wide range of technologies like Windows, Chromebooks, VM's Fiber, HVAC Units, Wireless thermostats, Aruba Switches and APs, Network Printers, CISCO VOIP Call Manager System
    • Provide end-user IT support and training, including creating and updating documentation, as well as consulting clients on applications, best practices, and general computing processes
    • Communicate, coordinate, and follow up with customers and stakeholders
    • Answer inbound phone calls, emails, and/or chats
    • Unlock accounts, reset passwords, wireless connectivity troubleshooting

Who Should Apply?

    • Recent (or soon-to-be) graduates with full-time availability to commit to an internship and potential full-time role
    • Self-taught individuals and career changers passionate about a career in IT
    • Service members within 6 months of military-to-civilian transition

Our Must Haves:

    • Ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
    • Current Arkansas state resident
    • High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies and growing or starting your IT career
    • Exhibited technical aptitude through projects or previous experience and ability to communicate what you know

Details

    • Pay: $15/hour, not eligible for benefits
    • Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
    • Length of Internship: 3 months 
    • Location: Prairie Grove Public Schools
How does the interview process work? ACDS will conduct an initial phone interview and assessment. ACDS will send selected resumes to companies that match the candidate’s skills and interests. Our employer partners will decide who to interview and select the final candidates for the internship program.
