We are looking for a full-time Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical documentation for our Data Integration products.   
 
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support Actian’s suite of hybrid, multiplatform Data Integration products. In this key role, you will design, develop, and maintain user documentation, samples, and other supporting documents. Published content will span across a variety of related products and target multiple personas with varying degrees of technical comprehension. Successful candidates will participate in the software development cycle and assist in elevating, modernizing, and improving product documentation. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interpret product features and functionality into concise, relevant, and factual product documentation that is useful and easy to understand
    • Maintain legacy feature documentation and publish as needed
    • Participate in release planning with senior team leadership; provide estimates and feature assessments
    • Build and grow product knowledge through extensive product use and testing
    • Work closely with the Documentation Architect to generate documentation feature branches and publish content for each release
    • Collaborate with Engineering leadership team to accelerate innovation and improve all aspects of documentation (format, content, organization, searchability, etc.)
    • Deliver content to match software patches and releases

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least 5-7 years of experience in the software Technical Writing field
    • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with Adobe FrameMaker, HTML, Adobe Acrobat,  OneDrive, git.
    • Aptitude for prioritizing and executing tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to identify documentation requirements from technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
    • Excellent written skills in English
    • Experienced in traditional and task-based documentation
    • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
    • SQL query language and basic RDBMS concepts
    • Basic understanding of ODBC, JDBC, REST interfaces
    • Basic understanding of Azure, Amazon, and Google cloud platforms
    • Experience and knowledge of Kanban and Scrum methodologies
