The Marketing Communications Manager will develop and implement internal and external communication programs for the organization to ensure that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the corporate identity and mission. This is a blended role focused on brand and internal communications. Priorities include brand repositioning in the cloud data platform market, messaging consistency across channels, and driving internal communications in partnership with the People Team. The role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and includes up to 50% of time on programs supporting the Employee Experience Team.
 


Responsibilities

    • Execute internal and external programs that shape and communicate our vision and mission
    • Partner in developing and evolving brand-level messaging and positioning, creating content to be used in repositioning efforts
    • Own brand-level marketing campaigns that position Actian in market as a leader in the cloud data platform market
    • Partner with colleagues and agencies on creative development to motivate the target audience to “take action”
    • Participate in evolution of brand platform, architecture, measurement, and identity
    • Drive all brand governance efforts to ensure consistency of message across internal and external channels
    • Editorial responsibilities to drive consistency of messaging across written, visual, and digital communications
    • Lead ongoing training and education programs around messaging and brand
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represents the corporate identity, and promotes and supports the organizations mission
    • Drive employer brand efforts in partnership with the People Team
    • Partner with the People Team to drive internal communications and content for recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement
    • Assist in editing and developing content for internal newsletters and/or podcasts
    • Develop branded training materials, presentation decks, from provided scripts and course outlines
    • Work with executive team on executive communications and messages

Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of experience in brand management, marcom and/or internal communications
    • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management
    • Outstanding storytelling skills
    • Experience in messaging governance and quality across all channels
    • Organized with attention to detail
    • Ability to think creatively
    • Successful writing and editing experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams in order to present a coherent message
