Action is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team at Daniel Burnham Court located in San Francisco.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the common areas and amenities of the HOA community. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
What You'll Do (Job Duties)
- Possess knowledge of high-rise mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
- Operate and maintain sanitary sewer systems, including sump pumps, basins, water closets, urinals, and piping.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Maintain and repair wall and wood surfaces, perform light carpentry, painting, and furniture refurbishment tasks.
- Perform in-unit tasks like HVAC filter replacements and smoke alarm battery changes, as scheduled by the Supervisor.
- Supervise third-party vendors and material movement, assisting housekeeping with transport needs as necessary.
- Maintain logs for work orders, preventive maintenance, and inventory, ensuring readiness for emergency response to floods, fires, and other incidents.
Who You Are (Skills and Experience)
- Strong mechanical and technical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- General computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Ability to learn and operate the property management software utilized by Action Property Management.
- Customer service oriented.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with the potential for rapid changes in deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to contact prospective vendors to collect proposals for specific projects as directed by the General Manager.
Education / Certifications
- High School Diploma / GED – Required.
- General equipment maintenance or related fields – Required.
- Maintenance of a Valid CA Driver’s License
- Interim HVAC Trade School / College courses in related fields
- EPA 608 Certification is a plus.
- Weekly Fire Pump Testing Certification is a plus.
$35 - $47 an hour
