About the team

The AIS technical team is part of the larger AIS Department at Adaptavist. We are a very dynamically functioning team that focuses on scripting, custom development and integrations, cloud and data migrations, and Gitlab support. We are a global team with our members based in the USA, Spain, South Africa, and Canada. We are looking for our latest hire to join us in Charleston, SC, USA or Toronto, ON, Canada.

Our team continually strives to be the best at what they do and enjoy dedicating themselves to producing exceptional work.
Respect and trust for each other are paramount to how we work - if we want to be the best at what we do, we need to be interdependent and supportive in every way. We put a lot of time and effort into creating a great environment in which we can thrive - physically in terms of our office space but also in how we organize ourselves.

We are highly committed to developing our people, but we also put emphasis on self-improvement and make time and resources available for our staff to grow independently

About the role

At Adaptavist, we are looking for an Associate Developer who is self-motivated and passionate about solving problems with code and scripting.

As an Associate Developer, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of developers, business consultants, and project managers, helping with all aspects of the development life-cycle through planning, designing, building and ongoing support. So it’s a good thing if you enjoy getting involved with a bit of everything whilst maintaining programming as your day to day specialism.

Check out the technologies you might get to work with, don’t worry, though; we’re not expecting you to know all of these!

C#, Java, Ruby or Python; executing the SDLC in preferred language, including automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
Working in code written by others as well as collaborative in your own approach to development.
Creating Automation with Groovy Script / ScriptRunner
HTML5, CSS and front-end best practices
RDBMS systems and the ORM frameworks that interact with them.
Non-relational databases such as Redis, MongoDB or DynamoDB.
Service oriented architecture and how to build RPC and REST API endpoints as well as working with other published APIs and incorporating them into solutions
High-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed systems
Git in a team setting; using git workflows

We pick the technology at the start of each new project based on the best fit, and we love to use new languages, frameworks, and approaches where possible.
