Advanced Agrilytics is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Business Development Director to drive data generation and data licensing growth for our rapidly expanding agronomy software platform. This role is instrumental in extending our market reach by engaging agronomic service providers who support major row crop markets across the Midwest.
The Business Development Director will be directly responsible for achieving defined annual licensing revenue goals, maintaining consistent pipeline health, and contributing to overall business growth.

How You Will Help Us Grow:
- Identify, develop, and close new multi-layer licensing agreements with agronomic service providers
- Manage and negotiate research contracts for our research division, Ag Ingenuity Partners
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline aligned with defined revenue targets and market expansion goals
- Cultivate deep relationships within the agriculture industry demonstrating a clear understanding of regional market dynamics and customer needs
- Oversee the integration of licensed layers into proprietary platforms, ensuring proper attribution, usage limits, and renewal tracking
- Develop and implement best practices for layer licensing workflows, including contract negotiation and lifecycle management
- Effectively articulate the value proposition and technical benefits of Advanced Agrilytics’ software platform to diverse stakeholder groups
- Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with product innovation, customer success, and strategic growth initiatives
- Engage with agronomic professionals working across key U.S. row crops, including corn, soybeans and wheat
- Focus geographically on key agricultural regions in the Midwest to support local market penetration and customer onboarding
Experience You Bring:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in ag tech sales, agronomic services, or ag retail business development
- Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and securing long-term customer agreements
- Deep knowledge of commercial farming operations and agronomic practices for corn, soybeans and wheat
- Proficient in integrating third-party APIs into existing systems
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-driven and entrepreneurial, capable of managing the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution and maintaining customer retention
- Skilled at positioning agronomic software solutions to both technical and commercial stakeholders
- Adept at navigating long sales cycles and building trusted, consultative relationships
- Ability to work independently while aligning closely with internal sales, product, and leadership teams
- Proficient in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho) to manage customer interactions, track sales pipelines, and maintain accurate client records for improved relationship management and business efficiency
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including regional travel for in-person customer engagements, industry events, and partner meetings
- Must reside in the U.S., and live in the applicable regional territory
