We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our end-to-end supply chain processes within a biotech environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient shipping, accurate inventory management, effective planning, and leveraging advanced analytics to drive continuous improvement.
This role is integral to Adverum’s mission to establish gene therapy as a new standard of care for leading causes of vision loss.
What you'll do:
- Shipping & Logistics:
- Manage and optimize outbound logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products, including coordination with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers and third-party logistics providers to streamline transportation processes.
- Monitor shipping performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels across all locations, including starting materials and finished goods.
- Implement inventory management systems and practices to reduce waste and improve accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
- Planning & Forecasting:
- Develop and execute demand forecasting models to anticipate customer needs and adjust supply plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance to align supply chain strategies with business objectives.
- Manage production planning to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
- Advanced Analytics:
- Utilize data analytics tools to monitor supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making processes.
- Implement predictive analytics to proactively address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with clinical supply chain, CMC, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing overall operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to supply chain operations, including GMP and FDA requirements.
- Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management, which are reasonably within the scope of this position
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in basic or applied sciences, engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience, 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, with a focus on logistics, inventory management, and planning withing biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of global supply chain considerations (manufacturing, quality, analytics, regulatory, finance, clinical) for a clinical trial material.
- Understanding of drug development process, drug demand forecasting, and supply planning techniques,
- Proficiency in GMP/GCP processes, import/export requirements for clinical supplies.
- Trade Compliance knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency in supply chain software systems and/or data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Independent self-starter, with ability to lead ad-hoc teams, perform work without supervision and show good judgement in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
$55 - $65 an hour
This is a contract role, starting at 6 months. Hourly rate will depend on experience and location.
The hourly range for this position is $55.00/hr to $65.00/hr USD. This hourly range is an estimate, and the actual range may vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, including education, length of experience, location, and market data.
