Here's the Deal
As an Aeroacoustics Engineer you will report directly to the VP of Flight Sciences and will be responsible for predicting cabin noise for the AS2 supersonic aircraft and validating those predictions through component, ground, and flight testing.

On any given day you might:

    • Perform acoustic analyses on aircraft systems and components
    • Build analysis tools and scripts to support Cabin Noise and Vibration testing
    • Calculate noise footprints and perceived noise metrics
    • Inform airframe aerodynamic shaping to reduce cabin noise
    • Influence interior design to reduce cockpit and cabin noise and improve crew and passenger comfort
    • Develop testing plans for technology development and design validation
    • Implement testing procedures and perform data reduction to verify predictions of cabin noise levels
    • Validate noise models and predictions with subsystem, flight and ground test data
    • Define noise allocations for sub-system suppliers
    • Provide subject-matter expert level guidance on both practical and theoretical aeroacoustics for aircraft design
    • Provide support for engineering, and flight test departments from concept through EIS

We’re looking for someone who has:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/aerospace/acoustic engineering, MS or PhD in a relevant technical specialty preferred
    • 5+ years overall technical experience in theoretical and experimental aeroacoustics
    • Must have demonstrated experience with noise attenuation for cabin comfort
    • Familiarity with computational aeroacoustics tools (e.g. POWERflow), high-fidelity tools like Lattice Boltzmann solvers, and statistical energy analysis tools (e.g. VAOne)
    • Significant experience on aircraft design teams, from concept through service, in a collaborative multi-discipline team environment
    • Experience in the development of supersonic, commercial, or business aircraft
    • Demonstrated leadership in solving technical challenges
