Here's the deal:
As the Principal Engineer for Systems Engineering you will report to the Director of Systems Engineering and represent the technical leadership of the Systems Engineering organization.  The ideal candidate will be an integral part of developing, deploying and executing robust system engineering processes and aircraft level requirements.

On any given day you might:

    • Share the value and importance of Systems Engineering processes, methodologies and vision throughout the organization
    • Develop and mature aircraft level requirements based on high level sources (e.g. CONOPS, MR&O, etc.)
    • Initiate and lead or support trade studies for development aircraft level requirements
    • Support Validation and Verification of aircraft level requirements
    • Report on Validation and Verification metrics
    • Work closely with program IPTs to ensure systems requirements are met through design, testing, validation and verification
    • Support aircraft level, system level and supplier level process assurance audits
    • Support studies for testability, human systems integration, survivability, and vulnerability
    • Assist in configuration management of aircraft systems
    • Support the development and maintenance of an aircraft level interface control drawing
    • Coordinate with the Aerion Airworthiness and Certification organization
    • Present status of Systems Engineering technical activities at technical and programmatic venues
    • Train staff and suppliers on Aerion System Engineering processes.

We're looking for someone who has

    • A high level  of expertise in Systems Engineering, i.e. one of the best
    • A passion for systems engineering and aircraft development with technical leadership in the application of Aerospace Recommended Practice for Development of Civil Aircraft and Safety Assessment Process (SAE ARP4754A and SAE ARP4761)
    • Hands-on experience in systems engineering for multiple complex aerospace development programs, ideally at an aircraft OEM
    • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining aircraft level requirements
    • Understanding of multiple aircraft disciplines, such as flight sciences, flight controls, hydraulics, electrical and avionics
    • Hands-on experience developing processes and associated documentation
    • Demonstrated success working within highly empowered teams and working with a diverse group of people at all levels
    • The ability to interpret and effectively communicate the results of engineering analyses
    • Experience working with Human Factors and Systems Safety
    • Current knowledge and understanding of FAA airworthiness and certification regulations, preferable 14 CFR Part 25
    • Knowledge of EASA and ICAO regulations is highly desired
    • Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (Jama, DOORS, TcRM, TcSE or others)
    • Hands on experience with aircraft and systems level problem reporting
    • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar (Master's in Systems Engineering preferred)
