Who We Are:
We're a small team responsible for testing a complex platform that works very closely with both engineering and product/project/program management. Our QA team has a big impact on not just the quality of everything we release, but also in what we build, how it's built, and when it gets released. We're lucky enough to work with a team that fully understands the value of QA and makes sure that we are able to have a large impact on the company.

What We're Looking For:
Someone that's ready to dig in and understand the complexities of the Afero platform. Ideally you have experience with complex client/server consumer products and are capable of doing platform level testing to identify issues with device, service, and app interactions.

In depth experience testing one or more of the following:

    • Android and iOS apps
    • Embedded firmware (e.g. ESP32 based devices)
    • Embedded linux based devices
    • Cloud services running on AWS or GCP
    • Have the right to work legally in the USA

The ideal candidate should have:

    • 5+ years of QA experience, including creation and execution of test cases, filing and verifying bugs. It is important to have worked through multiple full product cycles and to have shipped products.
    • Empathy for users, an eye for usability, and ability to invent imaginative, but reality-based, tests would all be advantageous.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential--you'll be expected to write clear and well-constructed bug reports, test cases, and documentation. You’ll also be expected to spot typographic and grammatical errors.
    • Attention to detail is critical.
    • It’s important that you have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You’ll be expected to interact with the entire Engineering team, while managing and prioritizing your own tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with any form of test automation is a plus.

Our Tools:

    • Jira
    • Confluence
    • TestRail
    • Jenkins
    • Github
    • Wireshark
    • Android Studio
    • Console
    • Big Query
    • Firebase
