What We’re Looking for:
At Afero, everyone on the team contributes a distinct perspective. We are looking for problem solvers with great skills and experience. The mobile team at Afero builds highly rated apps for Android and iOS to set up and configure smart home products in just a few minutes. Afero provides tight integration among mobile apps, cloud and hardware for our systems. As we scale and grow, we are looking for engineers with passion to build best in class, easy to use features for the app. Looking for candidates located in California, Texas, Georgia, Masssachusetts, or Utah.
Candidates would be expected to:
- Develop new features and functionality for our mobile apps using Flutter.
- Write well-tested, reliable code for use by users worldwide.
- Collaborate with other Afero Mobile app engineers, designers, and product managers to build solutions that delight our customers and end users.
- Understand and determine when to develop platform-level vs vertical-specific solutions.
- Accurately analyze complexity and level of effort for feature requirements.
- Analyze and optimize applications for efficiency and performance.
The Ideal Candidate should have:
- 5+ years of experience in mobile design patterns, building mobile frameworks/SDKs, building custom UX widgets and optimizing apps for performance.
- Development experience in IoT/consumer electronics products and applications.
- Deep knowledge and experience in developing apps using Flutter.
- Experience with profiling and debugging mobile applications.
- Strong technical background and analytical abilities in software design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Have the right to work legally in the USA.
Preferred Experience:
- Deep knowledge of Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, C/C++.
- Experience in Android Studio and Xcode.
- Experience in developing frequently updated apps for consumer products.
- Development experience creating native libraries for Android (NDK).
- Experience in partnering across Engineering organizations to develop large scale technical solutions.
$175,000 - $220,000 a year
The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $175,000 - $220,000. Actual pay is determined by a range of factors including work location, job-related skills and experience, relevant education, training or certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Afero it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This range reflects base salary only; Afero also offers competitive benefits and equity compensation which are not included in these numbers.
