SUMMARY The LMP Production Planning functional expert will assist, mentor, and train government employees to manage the LMP business processes related to the production planning and control activities with the directorate responsible for planning and scheduling manufacturing and remanufacturing operations, serving as the central work loading activity, performing programming and budgeting functions, and for assuring maximum utilization of facilities, equipment and manpower resources for the depot maintenance mission.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide timely operational support and integration of new and changing concepts in assigned area of expertise.
· Serve as the Depot’s technical advisor for all LMP-related Master Scheduling activities for current and new workloads, providing recommendations to senior management on balancing capacity and determining resource/production requirements.
· Review and analyze the division short and long-range strategic planning objectives and goals. Keep fully informed of all factors pertaining to the associated directorate’s mission accomplishments, e.g., program progress against established objectives, challenges encountered in fulfillment of mission responsibilities, individual actions of greatest significance, the meeting of schedules and observance of priorities. Hold discussion and meetings with key staff members as necessary to obtain pertinent details regarding challenging areas; recommend options to resolve issues. Provide consultation so that established policies and procedures are being uniformly applied throughout the installation.
· Provide support to a segment of highly technical and complex organization that involves implementation of production, repair, maintenance and overhaul of equipment programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Supported work directly affects the timely operational support and integration of concepts in assigned technical area. Support the execution of MRP utilizing the rough-cut capacity plan and master production schedule as inputs; prioritize, aggregate, and validate production schedules & requirements; maintain and evaluate the Master Production Schedule; review production requirements and validate production resources.
· Recommend changes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of operations; and develop recommended changes in methods and procedures. Evaluate the effectiveness of combat vehicle maintenance and performance in all program areas within the directorate in relation to local goals and higher command. Make recommendations to senior management focusing on planning, implementing and coordinating changes, which will improve the mission performance. Assess the degree that adequate internal control systems are developed and operative so that Government resources are efficiently and effectively managed.
· Support project coordinators for systems and equipment, prototype development, initial fabrication, production run, initial and follow-on fielding and major modifications of complex Tank-automotive Armament systems and subsystems. Provides support for the end-to-end logistics management of the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) for new and existing RRAD production programs with responsibility for program creation, cost estimates, acceptance, command scheduling, progress reporting and program closure. Supports Department of the Army Civilians (DACs) assigned specific projects, programs and procedures, and provides support to enhance visibility and reporting of these projects to the depot command and higher headquarters. Ensure that workload schedules are accurately maintained and updated within the LMP system. Support the preparation of logistics, operations, and demand requirement plans, operational and interim support plans, performance criteria. Specific critical functions are to support the review and verification of cost estimates, material availability and production capacities prior to program approval. Develop supporting data and provide comprehensive planning information, logistic plans, recommendations, alternatives and impact statements and performance criteria to the depot command staff and the project directors.
· Prepare logistics, operations, and demand requirement plans, operational and interim support plans, and performance criteria. Specific critical functions are to review and verify cost estimates, material availability and production capacities prior to program approval; to accept and negotiate programs. Develop supporting data and provides comprehensive planning information, logistic plans, recommendations, alternatives and impact statements and performance criteria to the depot command staff and the project directors.
· Monitor the Long-Term Workload Forecast against actual workload received and coordinate with Master Scheduling. Monitor cost plan accuracy and cost control. Provide feedback to all levels of Management. Review, analyze, monitor, and report on various indices at various levels of detail for programs to include: forecast vs. actual workload, planned vs. funded programs, asset availability vs. planned / funded workload, planned vs. actual resource requirements and master schedule compliance
· Provide training/assistance on functional and practical utilization of Shop Order Maintenance and CAPP modules within SAP CAMS 7.2.
· Identify, analyze, and resolve MII Interface errors relating to Production Planning related transactions.
· Provide assistance in managing Standard Library updates, content, and structure.

Education, Background, and Years of Experience
· Verifiable direct experience in master scheduling, capacity planning, and production control.
· 5 years verifiable direct experience with existing LMP Increment I systems, Commercial SAP experience (ECC 6.0), or a combination thereof plus two years of Army Industrial Base Operations (IBO) experience is required.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
· Familiarity with the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) as an ERP system used by the US Army.
· Understanding of LMP's role in supply chain, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) solutions.
· Experience with LMP lifecycle processes, including development of CRD/CDD/QA Test Scripts and functional/technical specifications.
· Knowledge of Army Materiel Command (AMC) industrial operations and their specific planning requirements.
