SUMMARY
Do you want to be part of the cutting edge of the new intelligence initiatives in the Navy? Agile Defense is looking for you to work in the Maritime Domain Awareness, Office of Naval Intelligence, and we are looking for someone to assist in the AWS cloud and hands-on day-to-day efforts on the ground. Further support includes migration of MDA capabilities to the cloud, and the application of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) tools to existing MDA data sets.
Provide system administration and support for applications both on-premise and in AWS.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage, monitor, and maintain servers, networks, and IT infrastructure to ensure system uptime and optimal performance.
· Perform regular system backups, recovery procedures, and data management tasks.
· Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, antivirus programs, and regular system updates and patches.
· Provide technical support and assistance to employees via ticketing systems, email, or in-person interactions.
· Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within identity management systems.
· Plan and implement software updates, hardware upgrades, and migrations with minimal disruption to operations.
· Provide technical support for cloud-based systems and applications
· Set up and configuring new cloud-based environments
· Maintaining and troubleshooting cloud-based systems and applications
· Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the cloud-based infrastructure
· Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies
· Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards
· Providing guidance and best practices for using the AWS platform
· To be an effective AWS system administrator, an individual should have strong technical skills, including experience with operating systems, networking, and virtualization. They should also be proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Python, CDK and have experience with cloud computing platforms. In addition, strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
