Job Title: Senior Product Manager

Salary Range: $87,500 - $162,500

The Senior Product Manager (SPM) plays a critical leadership role within Agile Defense Labs, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer. This position serves as the connective tissue across engineering, AI/automation delivery teams, product sales, and customer stakeholders. The SPM will drive execution across cross-functional teams, align priorities, and ensure the delivery of scalable AI and automation solutions that meet mission needs. This role is deeply embedded in agile methodologies, AI-first product thinking, and automation-led service delivery.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Team Coordination & Progress Tracking
•Oversee backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups.
•Monitor project tickets and ensure alignment with sprint objectives via tools such as Jira.
•Identify and proactively remove delivery blockers.
•Stakeholder Alignment & Communication
•Act as a key liaison between internal engineering/product teams and external stakeholders from across the company
•Maintain a communication crosswalk and lead syncs to ensure shared understanding of goals and progress.
•Capture and integrate stakeholder feedback into iterative product planning.
•Release Management & Documentation
•Own the release lifecycle—planning, testing coordination, approvals, and deployment communications.
•Ensure documentation in Confluence and Sharepoint is current, comprehensive, and accessible (e.g., technical specs, user guides, retrospectives).
•Process Improvement & Best Practices
•Analyze and optimize workflows to increase delivery efficiency.
•Lead adoption of AI/ML-enhanced tooling for backlog prioritization, sprint analytics, and test automation.
•Coach and train teams on agile best practices and automation frameworks that integrate AI.
•Strategic Delivery
•Translate AI/automation strategies into executable roadmaps.
•Support the CPO in aligning product initiatives with broader company OKRs, and Labs vision.
•Measure success via clear KPIs—team velocity, defect rates, documentation quality, stakeholder satisfaction.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
•This role provides strong matrixed leadership across product pods and scrum teams. Mentors associate product owners and across Agile Labs. Acts as a delegate to the Chief Product Officer in technical program meetings and sprint reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
•None required, though certifications in Agile (Scrum Master, SAFe), Product Management (Pragmatic, AIPMM), or AI/ML (Google Cloud AI/ML, AWS Machine Learning Specialty) are strongly preferred.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
•8+ years of experience in product or program management, with 3+ years leading AI, data science, or automation-driven teams.
•Direct experience working in or alongside government or defense innovation environments is highly desirable.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
•Proven track record of delivering complex AI-enabled products from concept to deployment.
•Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and ability to tailor to hybrid government R&D environments.
•Strong proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub Projects, and cloud-native DevSecOps platforms.
•Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled at translating technical complexity into stakeholder-aligned goals.
•Experience driving cross-functional coordination across engineering, sales, and leadership.
•Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, model lifecycle management, and AI integration with automation pipelines.
Preferred Skills
•Experience with Google Cloud AI/ML stack, AWS and Bedrock AI/ML Tools, and Microsoft Azure/Open AI Services.
•Knowledge of federal compliance environments (FedRAMP, ATO, IL5/6, NIST 800 series).
•Exposure to AI agent orchestration platforms, low-code/no-code workflow engines, and intelligent ticket routing solutions.
•Experience documenting processes and improving DevSecOps workflows in classified environments.
