About the Role

We are seeking to hire a Vice President of Farming Services to join our talented team. The VP of Farming Services is passionate about the intersection of farming and technology, comfortable working in farming and warehouse environments to oversee, deliver, and manage all services that run on the vehicles which employ our software. The Farming Services leader is an operator at heart who is action and solution oriented; adept enough to manage real-time trouble-shooting and thoughtful enough to ask the questions/get the feedback needed to move the company from field pilots to defining, refining, and bringing our products and services to market and operating our services long term.  This role sits at the intersection of our business and engineering teams leading revenue generation for the company in its early days.

What You'll Do:

    • Take the lead identifying and lining up pilot customers and locations based on business objectives
    • Help create guidelines for future projects and convert pilot customers to ongoing customers generating revenue for the company
    • Work closely with the engineering team to outline pilot and requirements, schedules and timelines, and collaborate to set up milestones for achieving testing and pilot success
    • Deliver, measure, and evaluate value of providing farming services through testing and pilots to commercialization
    • Capture learnings and evolve processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of paid pilot program and staging of pilots
    • Hire and manage an expanded Agtonomy field operations team as well and expand pilot participants and customers on using the equipment, services, etc.
    • Create training material for all customers on how to use the Agtonomy services including working with engineering to create any custom tools needed for training
    • Identify next generation offering of data capture and analysis and new service opportunities
    • In partnership with the business team, calculate farmer ROI and develop pricing and model that supports customer needs and drives Agtonomy’s business
    • Collaborate across internal product, technology, operations and marketing teams
    • Define and promote best practices in risk mitigation and safety 
    • Communicate and share updates with key stakeholders 

What You'll Bring:

    • B.A/B.S or equivalent highly preferred
    • Executive level experience, being strategic and tactical
    • Proven management experience in farming services (more than 10 years of relevant experience)
    • Hands-on approach
    • Interest in developing sustainable ag solutions
    • Curiosity with out-of-the-box thinking and leadership 
    • People management experience
    • Strong history of building relationships with  customers (serving as a key ambassador of the brand and company)
    • Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
    • Data-driven approach to taking learnings from the field to the business
    • Computer skills and fluency in Google tools, Slack, bug tracking systems, and various other technology tools

$140,000 - $220,000 a year
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 to $220,000 + equity + benefits + unlimited PTO

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, internal equity, and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or specialty training. Our interview process is generally conducted in four (4) phases:

1. Phone Screen with People Operations (30 minutes)
2. Video Interview with the Hiring Manager (45 minutes)
3. Panel Interview (Video interviews scheduled with key stakeholders, each interview will be 30 to 45 minutes)
4. Final Interviews (CEO, CFO, VP of Engineering, 30 minutes each)
