Our client is a Freight Brokerage that operates throughout North America. As a brokerage, our client does not handle the physical goods, they simply negotiate the best possible price on behalf of their clients, take a fee for doing so, and ensure that the shipment runs smoothly from A to B. The company was founded in February 2019. They are a younger team that come from a variety of different industries/backgrounds. This makes for a corporate culture similar to one of a tech startup. They have shown fast growth in the logistics space with the intentions of continuing to grow at the same pace. What You'll Do
Our client prides themselves on delivering top-notch services and building long-lasting relationships with their clients. We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Ocean Freight Sales Manager to join their team and drive business growth. The Ocean Freight Sales Manager will be responsible for generating new business, managing existing accounts, and driving revenue growth within the ocean freight segment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ocean freight sales, with at least 5 years of experience and a proven track record of bringing a book of business. You will leverage your industry knowledge and network to develop strategic partnerships. The company always open to hearing innovative ideas, and creative ways to generate new business. You will work closely with the operations and customer service departments day to day. Your results will be generated from a combination of work ethic/consistency and strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to target new customers and expand existing accounts within the ocean freight market.
    • Utilize your existing book of business to generate immediate sales opportunities and drive revenue growth.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.
    • Provide expert advice and solutions tailored to clients' ocean freight needs, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure smooth service delivery and address client concerns.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
    • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients.
    • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets and KPIs.

Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in ocean freight sales, with a proven track record of success.
    • Must bring an established book of business and demonstrated ability to close deals.
    • Strong knowledge of ocean freight logistics, including rates, routes, and regulations.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Proficiency in salesforce is an asset
