*Our client is hiring for a full-time, contract role on-site, 5 days per week in Waterloo, Ontario.*

The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Clerk is responsible for managing and processing all incoming and outgoing financial transactions within the company. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payments and receipts, maintaining financial records, and providing support to the accounting department.

Accounts Payable Duties:

    • Process and verify invoices for payment.
    • Match purchase orders with invoices.
    • Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and correct discrepancies.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files and records.
    • Assist with month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable.

Accounts Receivable Duties:

    • Generate and send out invoices to customers.
    • Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
    • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
    • Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
    • Maintain customer files and records.
    • Assist with month-end closing tasks related to accounts receivable.

General Duties:

    • Maintain financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
    • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
    • Support the accounting team with audits and tax preparations.
    • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
    • Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.

Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable roles.

Skills:

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

Other:

    • Location: Office environment.
    • Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday. Office working hours.
    • Reports To: Controller.
    • MUST be available to be on-site in Waterloo 5 days per week.
