We are looking for an engaged and passionate Team Leader to lead the new Auth Team that will be a Backend team that manages the login (SSO, SAML, MFA), manage autorization (roles, permissions), which means that you’ll be in the heart of our product.Note: this position is Remote Europe based

As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for the Authentication & Authorization team, a critical component of our product ; the  scope includes design, development, deployment and operation of critical features that add customer value on top of the security, maintaining the operational excellence and re-architecting our current system for better reliability, efficiency and quality.

This team will design, develop and operate a critical real-time, event-driven system on a cloud scalable architecture, based on serverless architecture, REST & GraphQL APIs. The platform is based on a micro-services  (AWS, Typescript).Best practices, evangelization, and mentoring in your team and across the whole of Engineering will be part of your day to day job. Quality, excellence, and agility drive our delivery processes and you will help us level these up being data driven with metrics, alarms and proper observability.

Your mission @ Aircall:

    • Together with PM, Architecture & Staff Engineers drive the design and iterative execution of the roadmap.
    • Together with PM & Engineering leadership, work on the cost/value estimation to define priority and sequence blocks in the roadmap.
    • Work with PMs to coordinate kickoffs, brainstorming, feature specifications and prototyping between designers and engineers to facilitate better collaboration and product development.
    • Promote a Devops mindset and ensure our teams are always architecting and building towards quality, continuous iteration and experimentation, efficiency and operational excellence as well as speed of launching to production.
    •  Ensure scrum ceremonies involve relevant stakeholders (especially from other Engineering areas and Product Management) and the team take actions after each ritual to improve its delivery.
    • Teach and mentor engineers in technical and non-technical growth and learning, setting up goals and monitoring their performance
    • Ensure code/design/architecture/knowledge sharing reviews happen on teams in a timely manner and that work follows established best practices and standards.
    • Coordinate with Engineering Leadership (meaning managers, Directors, CTO) to roll out engineering initiatives, as well as whenever cross-team work is necessary.
    • Be active in the technology community, positively contribute to Aircall’s reputation, and find great candidates to grow the team

A little more about you:

    • Must have 5+ years experience in Node.js, Typescript & microservices.
    •  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
    • 10+ years experience in Software development, including minimum 3 years in similar team lead positions .
    • Solid experience in building & operating real-time, cloud based and scalable architecture (preferably AWS).
    • Good to have experience in Node.js, Experience with Typescript mandatory with a focus on delivering for security, scalability, availability, and performance.
    • Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs.
    • A track record of successfully leading, delivering, and evolving large technical projects.
    • Achieving results, solving difficult technical challenges and anticipating technical problems ahead of time.
    • The ability and proven desire to successfully collaborate and communicate across teams to drive technical projects to completion balancing goals between tech and product.
    • Success with mentoring, teaching, sponsoring, coaching, and collaborating with engineers.
    • Previous experience in project and delivery management within an agile organization with a DevOps culture, and familiarized with the usage of tools oriented to agile development.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, ownership and people management skills.
    • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
