About AirDNA
We built AirDNA to solve a problem: how do you make smart short-term rental decisions when there’s too much guesswork and not enough good data?

What started in a garage in California in 2015 is now a global team helping thousands of people — from aspiring hosts to major real estate firms — make confident choices about where to invest, what to charge, and how to grow.

Our mission is simple: give people the tools they need to build freedom through short-term rentals. Whether that means buying their first Airbnb or scaling a portfolio, we’re here to help unlock financial independence and growth.

We track 10M+ listings in 120,000 markets, and our platform is trusted by users in over 100 countries. It’s big data, made useful.

In 2023, AirDNA acquired Uplisting, a powerful property management software that helps hosts and operators manage listings across Airbnb, Vrbo, and other platforms. With features like channel management, automated messaging, dynamic pricing, task coordination, and financial reporting, Uplisting expands our mission to support every stage of the short-term rental journey — from investment to operations.

The AirDNA team
We’re a curious, driven, and kind group of humans who genuinely love what we do. Our values — Happy, Hungry, Honest — guide how we show up for our customers and for each other.

Want to see what that looks like in action? You’ll get a feel once you meet us.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t check every box. Passion, potential, and perspective matter here.

The Role
AirDNA is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the application team. You’ll work across the stack—building polished frontend experiences in React and TypeScript while also designing APIs, services, and data flows in Python and cloud-native environments. Beyond coding, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding technical direction, mentoring teammates, and occasionally stepping in as a project lead to help squads deliver complex initiatives end-to-end.

Here's what you'll get to do:

    • Build across the stack: Own features from frontend UI (React, Next.js, TypeScript) through backend APIs (Python, microservices, Postgres, Redis, ).
    • Lead when needed: Step into a project lead role—helping scope, align, and drive delivery across engineers, product, and design.
    • Influence architecture: Contribute to the evolution of our frontend and backend architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
    • Deliver high-impact features: Ship tools, visualizations, and APIs that our customers love and rely on daily.
    • Mentor and guide: Provide code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching to help grow the team.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
    • Champion quality: Promote best practices in testing, CI/CD, and developer experience.

Here's what you'll need to be successful:

    • Experienced: 6–8+ years of software engineering, with strong professional experience in both frontend and backend development.
    • Frontend strong: 4+ years of recent React + TypeScript building scalable, performant UIs.
    • Backend capable: 5+ years writing production backend code (Python preferred), designing APIs, and working with data layers.
    • Project leader: You’ve stepped into leadership roles—driving technical discussions, breaking down work, and guiding teams to delivery.
    • Systems thinker: You understand tradeoffs, think about scale, and design for maintainability.
    • Collaborator & mentor: You enjoy working across teams and leveling up those around you.

Here's what would be nice to have:

    • Experience with SQL and query optimization.
    • Familiarity with data-heavy apps (Druid, Elasticsearch).
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
    • Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and testing frameworks.
    • Experience designing and deploying microservice architecture to AWS.

Here's what you can expect from us:

    • Any hire made outside of Spain would be a full-time contractor. Benefits for remote EU contractors include:
    • Indefinite contract
    • Competitive salary
    • 36 holidays per year
    • Flexible remote environment
    • Continuing education stipend
    • Language lessons with Preply (French-German-Italian-Spanish)
    • A friendly, collaborative team that values clear communication
    • Opportunities for growth, mentorship, and learning new technologies
    • A mission-driven product with real user impact
