AirGarage is working to repurpose the 30% of real estate in the average American city dedicated to parking. Today, land is managed in an old-school, offline way. Parking lots and garages are outdated, using machines and attendants which means they sit underutilized and cannot adapt to serve our cities' changing needs.

We are building a future where real estate is digitized and can be transitioned from one use to another seamlessly on-demand, moving every piece of urban real estate toward its highest and best use.

The first step in achieving that future vision is making these physical spaces legible to our digital system. That's what we're focused on today.
As a full-stack parking operator, we automate the operation of parking lots and parking garages. We handle everything from advertising to collecting payments from drivers and enforcing against illegal parking. We already operate 150+ parking lots and parking garages across 30 US states and we are growing quickly.

We're looking for ambitious, output oriented team members that want to help us scale to thousands of locations and change the way urban real estate is managed to build better cities and aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and .

We’re looking for a Tech Lead to bring technical leadership to our engineering team, including making key architecture decisions, mentoring and coaching engineers, and leading engineering meetings.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building a robust codebase with a long-term, technical vision, and also eager to help empower, coach, unblock and enable our engineering team.

This is a role with high growth potential, as you will be an early leader helping scale and grow our engineering team and organization.
Our stack is Python, Django, Django REST framework, React, React Native, and Expo.

β€” Make key architecture decisions around best practices, design patterns, infrastructure, and tools.
β€” Nurture a team of passionate engineers, pair program and collaborate with engineers to multiply their impact.
β€” Bring best technical practices and raise the bar.
β€” Collaborating with the founders, product, data, and design leaders to understand our users and build the best product possible.
β€” Lead engineering meetings including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
β€” Promote a culture of resiliency, learning, ownership, and impact
β€” Implement lightweight processes to help the team scale while maintaining agility


β€” Previously a senior, principal, or staff engineer with deep knowledge of software architecture patterns, REST API design, database management, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines
β€” People management experience, for example coaching, teaching, mentoring, or leading a team.
β€” Experience with Python, Django, and React or similar web and mobile frameworks.
β€” An ownership mindset, eager to understand and own complex systems
