ABOUT AIRGARAGE πŸ™
AirGarage is repurposing the 30% of real estate in the average American city currently dedicated to parking.

We are building a future where real estate is digitized and can be transitioned from one use to another seamlessly on-demand, moving every piece of urban real estate toward its highest and best use.

We are starting with the $131 billion US parking real estate market because it is one of the most offline and mismanaged commercial real estate asset types.

As a full-stack parking operator, we automate the operation of parking lots and parking garages. We handle everything from advertising to collecting payments from drivers and enforcing against illegal parking. We already operate 150+ parking lots and parking garages across 30 US states and we are growing quickly.

We are backed by top tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Floodgate, Founders Fund, and angel investors who have founded or worked at companies like Uber, Opendoor, Flexport, and more.

THE ROLE πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸ’»

At AirGarage, our mission is to transform cities through parking real estate. We believe these single-use spaces will be inevitably turned into multi-use hubs. At the same time, we're learning how this valuable real estate is being used, and building the infrastructure to push it towards its highest and best use.

Our accelerated growth, combined with millions of rows of data and an ambitious goal, brings many challenges. Even more so at an early-stage startup with constantly evolving products and scaling infrastructure. You’ll transform our once dorm room hacked together system into a beautiful, fine-tuned machine. From weeding out messy data, designing and implementing data warehouses for faster analytical speed and efficiency, to collaborating with engineering and product teams to design the optimal database architecture.

As a result of your work, you’ll enable almost every other data function at AirGarage from guiding internal strategy, to reporting never before seen insights to our partners.
You'll work with our Chief Data Officer, CTO, and CEO on a variety of high leverage projects.
If you are excited to become a foundational team member at a fast growing startup, we can't wait for you to apply.

WHAT YOU WILL DO πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈ

β€” Partner with our Chief Data Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Executive Officer to build out a best-in-class analytics system to give our partners insight into their parking lot and garage performance and super charge our internal organization.

β€” Work with our engineering, data, sales, marketing, and product teams to understand the data needs of the business and produce pipelines, data marts and other data solutions that enable better product and growth decision-making.

β€” Be responsible for architecting and building the tools and infrastructure and ensuring these are high quality, robust, easy to maintain, and scalable.

β€” Drive the data strategy and important data projects for AirGarage including building a new data warehouse platform with a flexible data model challenging the β€œtraditional” approach to Data Warehousing.

β€” Develop repeatable and scalable code that processes client data in an automated and efficient manner to ensure data availability in the platform is as real-time as possible.
β€” Build and implement ETL workflows for data matching, data cleansing, data integration, and management.

β€” Develop repeatable and scalable code that processes client data in an automated and efficient manner to ensure data availability in the platform is as real-time as possible.

β€” Implement best practices and collaborate in the design of effective streamlined processes.

β€”Take ownership of automated scripting, data migration and processing, and data tooling to efficiently carry out data processing tasks in a scalable fashion.

WHAT YOU NEED πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ“

β€” Passion for data β€” you're excited by the opportunity to clean up messy datasets, sleuth around in ambiguity for clues, and share your discoveries.

β€” Experience as a data engineer - you’ve wrangled enough data to know how often complex systems can go wrong.

β€” Excellent communication skills β€” you can communicate with clarity and precision.

β€” A degree in statistics, applied math, computer science, engineering or a related field.

β€” Extreme attention to detail and nuance β€” this is a critical quality when the stakes are high and trust is everything to our partners.

β€” Fluency in Python and SQL, knowing how to write and refine intricate queries.

THE UPSIDE πŸ“ˆ

β€” By joining as one of our early team members, especially on the data team, there is enormous opportunity ahead for you to have an outsized impact and shape the future of AirGarage in this role.

β€” A lot of room to grow -- the team will be orders of magnitude larger within a few years, and you’ll be the foundation of that team.

β€” Work closely with our founders and CDO to drive strategy and execute key initiatives.

β€” The opportunity to change the way that the world thinks about real estate use in our cities.

β€” A diverse team -- we are currently 35%+ female and 30%+ non-white and we hope to continue hiring thoughtfully to build a team that represents the fact that our customers come from all walks of life.
