Airwallex is a global payments fintech company transforming the way businesses move and manage money globally. We have built a global financial infrastructure platform to help businesses transact, collect and pay across 130+ countries and 50+ currencies, without the constraints of the traditional global financial system. We've grown to 19 global locations and have raised over US$800 million in funding. To support our ambitious growth plans, we’re looking for smart, collaborative and passionate people who are looking to make a genuine impact.

What you'll do
As an experienced and dedicated Android Developer, you are someone who enjoys building high quality, intuitive, user-friendly and beautiful mobile apps. You’re interested in working as part of a collaborative team that aims to build a great app using established best practices.

You’ll be joining Airwallex at an exciting time as we build out features of our brand new Android app. The app allows customers to manage business-to-business global payments, view transactions and manage Airwallex virtual and physical cards, with features such as Google Pay for making card transactions in the pipeline.

We’re using the latest technologies like AndroidX, the Jetpack libraries and Hilt, and are keen to begin integrating Jetpack Compose soon, as we learn it and build out features together.

Day to day you will contribute to the design of how our mobile app looks and feels, you’ll collaborate with your engineering colleagues to share knowledge and work out the best way of building features to ensure the app is secure, reliable, tested and always available for our customers. We build our mobile applications in native technologies across iOS and Android, but we are well aware that these are different platforms that require their own unique UX.

In addition to core engineering duties, we actively encourage our engineering community to contribute to the growth of Airwallex generally. Our business is achieving rapid growth with an evolving roadmap, and we want our engineers to play a part in how that happens.

What you'll bring

    • 5+ years experience developing native Android apps and experience with Kotlin
    • Has deployed one or more Android apps, ideally currently available in the Google Play store
    • Experience with modern Android tools like AndroidX and Jetpack
    • Has used and is familiar with a dependency injection library like Hilt or Dagger
    • Familiarity with Kotlin coroutines
    • Writes testable code with high test coverage, and is able to maintain automation pipelines for CI/CD (eg GitHub Actions)
