Headquartered in Downtown Toronto, the team has been working on the product for 2 years and is set to launch and create a new trend in 2019. Fred Bould (Designer of Nest products, Roku, etc) has designed the product & equally talented folks are leading the product development efforts. We’ve invented a world class product and are committed to bringing on board individuals that are driven to making it a success while working alongside our highly talented team.

We recently closed a round of funding and are looking for a seasoned and passionate Director of Marketing to aggressively grow our business to the next level. As the Director of Marketing, you will report directly to the CEO and will be a core member of our senior leadership team. 

Roles and responsibilities:

    • Develop the marketing strategy for all of Airzai’s initial launch and taking ownership of a successful pre-order campaign and unit sales of the product
    • Champion our brand positioning—setting direction and vision for Brand Marketing for the short, medium and long term
    • Oversee end-to-end program management and marketing development process from planning through execution; ensure everything from product positioning to go-to-market execution is on brief, on time and at excellence  
    • Build marketing operations processes from the ground up; manage a range of core capabilities that include effectively on-boarding PR, Advertising, and other relevant team members/contract partners, expanding the team and initiating new customer acquisition channels 
    • Responsible for driving strategy, budget, execution and KPIs for all Brand Marketing initiatives
    • Build communications plans that are culturally relevant and brand-defining, with the goal to achieve the greatest reach, talk-value, and conversion down the funnel
    • Initiate and leverage social media, influencer marketing to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition 
    • Initiate celebrity-based marketing and deriving creative cross-brand collaborations, strategic partnerships  
    • Act as Brand Marketing lead for all cross-functional initiatives, ensuring all projects across the company align with strategic objectives and our brand positioning
    • Leverage customer insights, data and feedback to develop communications strategies and drive marketing innovation—motivating the teams towards making any piece of brand communication a memorable and shareable experience
    • Drive and maintain the marketing communications calendar, tied to business goals, product launches and culture
    • Stay on top of marketing trends and news on culturally-relevant brands to help guide and shape future marketing innovation and strategies

Requirements:

    • 12+ years of proven experience in leading, managing, and executing marketing initiatives  
    • Leadership experience in brand/product marketing or consumer strategy with management consulting firms, brand agencies and/or luxury goods industry
    • Prior experience of CPG product launch primarily in tech, IoT, subscription model preferred   
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to provide breakthrough thinking and strategy, and to function effectively in highly dynamic environments 
    • Experience managing (or within) agencies on brand-building and retail projects  
    • A self-starter mindset with the organizational skills to flourish in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment
