Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate ledgers and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with the Polish accounting act and IFRS.
    • Perform month-end/year-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and internal management reports.
    • Participation in the preparation of financial statements.
    • Post and verify purchase invoices, including imports and intra-Community (WNT) transactions. b) Monitor contractor balances, manage settlements.
    • Create and manage payment requests through ERP and ensure proper booking in accordance with JPK_VAT structure.
    • Support in monitoring receivables and collection activities.
    • Prepare and submit VAT (JPK_V7M, VAT-UE), CIT, and WHT declarations.
    • Ensure compliance with withholding tax (WHT) obligations, including documentation under the pay-and-refund mechanism.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
    • Record and reconcile raw material and finished goods inventory.
    • Cash flow forecasting, monthly budgeting, and variance analysis.
    • Monitor expenses and support cost control initiatives.
    • Support internal and external audits, prepare required documentation. b) Ensure compliance with document retention rules (5–10 years).
    • Participate in the development and improvement of internal controls over financial processes.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in ERP systems ( Optima, SAP).
    • Archive financial documents in compliance with Polish regulations.
    • Monitor and optimize workflows related to accounting processes. Support digitalization and automation of finance processes.

As Chief Accountant backup:

    • Prepare transfer pricing documentation and ensure timely fulfillment of DAC-6 reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Central Finance Department on group financial reporting.
    • Participation in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and support the audit process.
    • Prepare monthly management accounts for group consolidation.
    • Prepare reports for external stakeholders, including banks and leasing institutions.
    • Prepare and submit statutory declarations (excluding ZUS and PIT declarations, INTRASTAT)

Qualifications & experience:

    • Master’s degree in Economics or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
    • Strong understanding of the Polish accounting act, IFRS/GAAP standards, VAT, CIT regulations, and financial reporting practices.
    • Proficient in using accounting systems such as Optima, or SAP.
    • Fluent in Polish and able to communicate in English at a minimum B1 (intermediate) level.
    • Experience in a multinational company or shared services environment.
    • Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements. Familiarity with DAC6 reporting.
