Overview
The Apparel Designer will work closely with partners in both Merchandising and the Production department on fit and costing. You will ensure the integrity of the product is maintained throughout the design and production process. In addition, you will be working with the Merchandising department to design complete apparel collections seasonally through a design calendar, as well as you will be working on chase products closer to launch season. 

Responsibilities:

    • Research market to determine trends in color, theme, fabric, trim and style.
    • Work closely with upper management on development of seasonal inspiration boards for color, style, art, theme, and trim.
    • Create and present graphic inspiration to create original collections and trends within the men’s street wear market.
    • Own the entire design process from concept through the developmental process to production.
    • Create CADs and tech packs to effectively communicate product details and trims.
    • Communicate with the product development team and vendors to ensure proper execution of samples and product.
    • Develop 15 to 30 products monthly from concept to production.
    • Attend and participate in design meetings.

Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in apparel design, with a portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of design principles.
    • Strong understanding of the mnml.la aesthetic and customer.
    • Strong understanding of apparel construction techniques and ability to problem solve around limitations.
    • Collaborative mentality with strong cross-department communication skills.
    • Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator.
    • PDF and/or online portfolio is required.
Salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
