Position Overview:
The Diagnostic Radiology Technician will provide radiologic services at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), which operates 24/7, serving multiple Native American communities. This role requires performing digital radiology examinations to assist in clinical diagnoses, patient monitoring, and therapy. The technician will be under the supervision of the Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, Radiologist, or Radiology Practice Manager.
Work Schedule:
Weekday (Fixed Coverage): Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Qualifications and Certifications:
Education: Degree from an accredited Radiology Educational Program.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in Diagnostic Radiology (Digital Radiology).
Licensure/Certification:
-Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiology.
-Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
-Image Gently and Image Wisely certification/training preferred.
-Valid, unrestricted License to practice in any U.S. state.
Responsibilities:
-Operate and manage digital radiology, C-ARM, and fluoroscopy equipment, including Shimadzu digital radiology and fluoroscopy units and Canon DR plate system for image capture.
-Perform a range of digital radiology exams as requested by medical staff.
-Adhere to cultural sensitivities while providing healthcare services to Native American patients.
-Work independently to execute diagnostic imaging procedures.
-Be available to work beyond scheduled hours in emergency cases.
-Complete PIMC mandatory training monthly or as required.
-Carry out additional assignments as directed by the Radiology Department Supervisor or Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
-Provide on-site coverage only.
-Attend PIMC orientation and comply with all immunization requirements before the start of work.
Immunization Requirements:
-Tuberculosis (TB): Annual PPD or Chest X-ray (if history of positive test).
-Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR): Documentation of two (2) vaccinations or proof of immunity (Not required for employees born before 1957).
-Varicella (Chickenpox): Documentation of two (2) vaccinations, proof of immunity, or history of the disease.
-Hepatitis B: Documentation of completed series vaccination.
-Influenza: Documentation of vaccination during flu season.
-COVID-19: Documentation of vaccination.
Professional Standards:
-Maintain cleanliness and professional attire as per PIMC dress code for Radiologic Technologists.
-Exhibit a professional demeanor in alignment with the nature of the role.
-Be physically capable of performing duties, including working in extreme temperature conditions as needed.
Required Credentials:
-Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Diagnostic Radiology Technician.
-Copy of valid ARRT certification in Radiology or MRI, depending on coverage needs.
-Copy of valid BLS certification (American Heart Association).
-Participation in Resuscitation Quality Initiative (RQI) may be required.
-Copy of valid, unrestricted state license from any U.S. state.
