The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking a qualified Dental Provider to deliver comprehensive dental care at the Santa Fe Indian Health Center (SFIHC) and its outlying clinics. The provider will perform diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic dental procedures, ensuring high-quality oral healthcare for patients. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Clinical Duties: 
Conduct oral and radiographic examinations to diagnose pathological or irregular conditions. 
Develop and discuss treatment plans with patients, documenting all care in the patient’s health record. 
Perform restorative procedures for simple and complex cavities using standard prescribed materials. 
Administer local anesthesia and prescribe necessary pharmaceuticals following treatment guidelines. 
Perform oral surgical procedures, including simple and surgical extractions. 
Conduct endodontic treatments, including routine root canal therapy. 
Carry out periodontal procedures, such as scaling and root planning. 
Provide preventive care education to patients, including post-treatment instructions and oral hygiene counseling. 

Work Schedule: 

Shift Options: 8-hour (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) or 9-hour (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM) shifts, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Schedule: Assigned bi-weekly, may include weekends and Federal holidays. 
No on-call requirements. 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

Education & Licensing: 
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from an accredited school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA), Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), or U.S. Department of Education
Must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted dental license in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory. 

Experience: 

A minimum of 36 months (3 years) of professional experience, with at least 12 months in a specialty relevant to the position (unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer). 
Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties effectively, as reflected in the candidate’s resume.
