Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; Weekend shifts 12:00 PM–5:00 PM; up to 40 hours/week
$100 - $110 an hour
Position Overview:
Akicita Federal is seeking qualified, licensed Pharmacists to provide comprehensive outpatient pharmacy services under a federal contract at WWKMHCC, an Indian Health Service facility. This is a non-personal services contract supporting the delivery of pharmaceutical care to a rural tribal population.
Responsibilities:
-Process and verify prescriptions using the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
-Provide direct patient counseling and document interactions in EHR
-Review prescriptions for appropriateness, allergies, and drug interactions
-Maintain compliance with WWKMHCC formulary and non-formulary procedures
-Provide consultation and substitution recommendations to prescribers
-Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and compliance logs
-Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and committees (e.g., P&T, QA)
-Engage in continuous quality improvement, including peer reviews
-Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
-Serve as the sole pharmacist when necessary; perform delegated supervisory duties
Qualifications:
-Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
-Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in the past 3 years as a practicing pharmacist
-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
-Experience with EHR systems and strong computer literacy
-Must pass federal and state background investigations and fingerprinting
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in culturally sensitive environments
Compensation & Benefits:
All-Inclusive Hourly Rate: Covers base pay, travel, lodging, per diem, fringe benefits, and taxes
Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours/week with potential weekend/holiday shifts
Clearance & Onboarding:
-Candidates must pass a full background check (T2S) and fingerprinting before starting
-Orientation and EHR access provided upon clearance
-No contact with patients until background check is fully adjudicated
