Akicita Federal is seeking a qualified Deferred Maintenance Work Order (DMWO) and PRQ Quality Control Specialist to support the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Facilities Program. The Quality Control Specialist will review and approve Deferred Maintenance Work Orders (DMWOs) and Project Requirements (PRQs) to ensure compliance with established quality standards, accurate coding, and proper funding alignment. This role also involves hosting training sessions and providing technical guidance to improve the development of work orders, cost estimates, and documentation in Maximo and BPERM systems.
$120,000 - $150,000 a year
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Review DMWOs and PRQs to ensure they meet minimum quality standards and are accurately coded.
-Provide final approval of DMWOs in Maximo, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with program requirements.
-Review PRQs entered into the BPERM system and verify proper entry of funding codes based on the type of work being requested.
-Conduct recurring and ad hoc training sessions on:
-DMWO development
-Scope of Work (SOW) writing
-Cost estimating using RS Means/CostWorks
-Maximo system use and best practices
-Provide mentorship and technical guidance to facility managers and support staff to ensure consistency and quality in DMWO and PRQ submissions.
-Assist in the continuous improvement of processes and templates for DMWO and PRQ development.
-Identify and recommend corrective actions for any recurring deficiencies in submitted work orders or project requirements.
-Maintain documentation of reviews, approvals, and training activities for program audit and performance evaluation purposes.
-Communicate effectively with stakeholders including facility managers, project managers, and headquarters staff to clarify requirements and support timely approvals.
-Perform additional quality control and administrative support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field (minimum four-year degree).
-Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and editing Statements of Work (SOW) and construction Cost Estimates.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience managing budgets in construction, maintenance, or facility operations projects.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience providing professional training, mentoring, or instructional support.
-Proficiency in computer software applications, including:
-Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
-Adobe Acrobat Professional
-RS Means/CostWorks for cost estimating
-Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
-Ability to accurately calculate construction costs, assess changes, and provide recommendations for equitable adjustments based on sound engineering and construction principles.

-Ability to conduct group and one-on-one training effectively.
-Familiarity with federal maintenance and construction funding processes and requirements.
-Ability to manage multiple reviews and training activities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Additional Information:
-This position may require occasional travel to BIE facilities to conduct onsite reviews or deliver in-person training.
-Contractor must maintain organized records of all work order reviews and approvals for audit tracking.
-Must exercise initiative, professional judgment, and maintain a commitment to service quality improvement.
