🤹 Operations at Alan

Our Operations team guarantees the delivery at scale of our insurance and healthcare products, efficiently and delightfully

This means:
- Bringing the ops perspective into Alan strategy
- Building our organisation and processes to deliver the vision to allow further disruption and product diversification
- Monitoring and running those processes internally or externally on a daily basis
- Scaling efficiently and industrializing our operational stack to handle fast growth, international expansion and cost optimisation

We handle complex projects in constant interactions with multidisciplinary teams (Product & Design, Engineering, Data, Customer Support, Finance, etc.)

You’ll be joining 30+ talented, committed, passionate Ops team members from five different countries. As we grow, expand and diversify our business our operations are becoming ever more complex and our challenges ahead have never been as exciting!

⭐️ The challenges

We are looking for senior entrepreneurs with a strong operational background  to disrupt (and not only upgrade) the way we traditionally think about insurance or healthcare, and deeply re-engineer the experience we offer to our members . 

We move fast and are proud to tackle big problems! One of our core value is ownership : we expect you to tackle Company problems from end to end with a long-term focus, acting as a leader on behalf of the entire Company, never saying “it’s not my job” and being accountable for your actions.

Example of missions our team is covering and in which you could be involved:
- Strategy / Ownership:
* Define Ops strategic vision on Company’s key topics, drive alignment on priorities at Company level to turn our vision into reality
* Develop a strong understanding of landscape and market trends, define priority use cases, explore build/buy/partner options, etc.
- Run:
* Perform, monitor and scale daily business operations
* Supervise and grow the team of insurance operators or health professionals
* Handle external partnerships (teleconsultations, etc.)
- Build: Own and implement strategic projects (such as the launch of new insurance products, internalisation of processes, creation  of new health services offering) 
- Industrialize to reach operational excellence by building a granular understanding of our operations, tracking operational and financial efficiency, identifying risks and areas of improvement and implementing plans (automation for instance)
- People growth: Coach and mentor team members helping them grow and offering the right platform to learn. As a senior member of the team, we expect you to edit the way we work and make sure team members continuously get feedback and develop new skills.

🛠 Profile

We are looking for people with 5-8 years of experience in building, optimizing and running processes to offer the best experience to our members in a scalable and efficient way.

Hard Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and planning: Ability to define a vision and drill down into an actionable plan and roadmap, ability to consider complex problems and factor in different dimensions (business, customer experience, regulatory, etc.) with a deep level of structure
- Ready to dig into ops/technical processes:  ability to build and optimise processes that ensure quality of service, performance and scalability, while making them clear and delightful internally and for our members 
- Strong analytical & problem solving skills and ability to conduct deep data analysis
- Communication: Communicates well with Alaners, our investors, and service providers
- Full working proficiency in both English and French

Soft Skills:
- Ownership: Able to attract top talents, mentor and make their team members grow
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments where there is a high level of uncertainty, 
- Highly adaptable and fast learner 
- Highly organized, able to handle many different tasks in parallel
- Hands-on:  Not scared of getting their hands dirty and dive into any problem
- Challenger: Portrays a general growth mindset and challenges Alan’s past strategies. 
- Collaborative/ team player 
- User centricity and empathy: A sensibility for Product / UX especially and towards members’ and colleagues’ satisfaction

It would be great if you also have:
- A successful track record in scaling a company or setting up complex operations 
- An experience building new and early-staged products and services with a user-centric approach, understanding of key concepts of early-stage products such as traction, retention, learning loop, etc.
- Healthcare/digital health or insurance experience, passion for healthcare delivery
- SQL knowledge allowing to be fully autonomous when drilling into the data
