Position: Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant needed immediately

Our practice’s medical team is looking for a reliable, well-organized Medical Assistant to become a member. As a member you will have an array of responsibilities that will allow us to continue to provide exceptional care to our patients. Answering phone calls, schedule appointments, room the patients, and assist with visit preparation to include taking vital signs and completing intake items will be some of your responsibilities. Additionally administering vaccinations, performing EKGs and other clinical duties will need to be learned if not already knowledgeable.

Jobseekers should have some experience in the medical field and love helping people in a quick-paced, friendly Internal Medicine/primary care medical office.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

    • Scheduling appointments
    • Answering all phone calls and routing to appropriate personnel and call backs as directed.
    • You will communicate and collaborate with the medical staff team to achieve common patient goals.
    • You will maintain detailed administrative and medical records in our EMR system.
    • You will prepare examination rooms and monitor supply levels.
    • You will perform other medical and administrative duties as assigned effectively and efficiently including use of word-processor, spreadsheets, email, and credit card terminal
    • You will provide and coordinate office-based care including preparing patients for examination, perform routine diagnostic tests, screenings, gather patient history, vitals, and administer vaccinations and injections.
    • The ability to handle lab samples including blood, urine and body fluids. Able to or willing to learn to draw blood and perform an EKG, Spirometry etc

Required Qualifications:

    • You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • You are a graduate from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program or currently enrolled. ·
    • You have medical office experience of at least 1-2 years and good knowledge of medical terminology
    • You have experience with an electronic health record system
    • You are available to work full time Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 6:00 PM, and live within a reasonable commuting distance to our office
