The Manager of Payer Strategy & Engagement role will support the execution of Aledade’s strategic partnerships with national and regional health plans and healthcare-related organizations as we help primary care providers shift into value-based care. The role will be responsible for collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to demonstrate the value that Aledade brings to payer partnerships. This role will report to the Director of Payer Strategy & Engagement, in the Chief Commercial Officer’s organization. We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely within the US with frequent travel. 

Primary Duties:

    • Manage the relationships with assigned payer portfolio across all states and segments in a way that contributes to the company's goals on value-based health plan contracting and performance for commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid contracts
    • Collaborate cross functionally in order to: 
    • a.) support preparations and material creation for payer JOCs
      b.) support payer-specific coordination across Aledade functional teams
      c.) respond to payer information requests
      d.) create executive level reports and updates on the status of payer relationships
      e.) Develop an internal and external reputation for service (always be willing to help), impact (add value to your projects), urgency (move projects along and making sure any issues get resolved quickly) and excellence (avoid/reduce careless mistakes)
    • Be confident enough to elevate key risks or additional resources needed to maintain payer relationships to your Director or Senior Director
    • Support the creation of multi-year strategic plans for each assigned payer in each market to align long term goals

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in healthcare with health plans within value-based care, OR
    • Master’s degree and 6+ years in healthcare with health plans within value-based care

Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

    • Skilled in relationship management and portfolio management
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities; strong analytical skills/mindset
    • Results-oriented with the ability to access financial and operational outcomes of contracts 
    • Passionate about driving the shift from fee-for-service to value based care
    • Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing customer relationships and communicating effectively with colleagues in senior management
    • Master’s degree or other advanced degrees in management, health services research, health and/or public policy, or other relevant fields is preferred

Physical Requirements:

    • Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
    • Ability to travel
