Aledade is actively recruiting for a Vice President of Quality. This senior leader is responsible for leading clinical quality performance for Aledade.
The Vice President of Quality will serve as the single owner and single point of accountability for Aledade’s quality goals across all lines of business, with a particular focus on Medicare Advantage Stars. This will include developing, maintaining, and executing on the strategic roadmap and providing vision and subject matter expertise for scalable tech-enabled workflows, primary care practice and clinician engagement, and centralized support functions.
This outcome oriented role will lead through cross-functional influence, collaborating closely with peers across the business, including the VP of Pharmacy, VP of Product, SVP of Implementation, and other quality leaders to ensure quality performance is tightly integrated into Aledade’s operating model. This leader will also collaborate with leaders in other departments, including key colleagues leading Aledade’s diagnosis coding and affordability efforts. In addition, the Vice President at Aledade will be an integral part of the Strategy and Priority Leadership Team tasked with informing the company’s overall strategic direction.
Primary Duties:
Quality Performance & Strategy:
- Own accountability for company performance on quality performance across all lines of business, with a focus on Medicare Advantage Stars performance.
- Develop and oversee clinical strategies and operations for continuous improvement on key clinical, quality, and pharmacy measures.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for the life cycle of quality care gaps from creation through closure and reporting, including data ingestion, chart reviews, health plan file submission, and more.
- Implement practice centric strategies to engage, educate, and motivate providers to positively impact Star Ratings.
- Identify and address operational challenges that may impact Star Ratings, providing leadership with updates on potential risks and mitigation efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:
- Represent Aledade and its quality performance efforts, internally and externally.
- Lead health plan meetings to discuss Aledade’s performance and shared priorities with health plan partners.
- Build relationships with and lead cross functional teams to drive Star Ratings initiatives and best practices by promoting innovation, strategy development, and implementation excellence.
- Chairs and facilitates steering committee meetings related to Stars, effectively communicating performance progress, new initiatives needed for higher performance, organizational barriers, and expectations of results.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a high-performing and highly engaged team to drive positive culture transformation and employee engagement as evidenced by employee engagement scores.
- Cast the “shadow of a leader,” leading with a high degree of influence across many departments, including a direct team of ~30 with influence over a broader team of 100+ professionals supporting quality efforts.
Other Duties:
- Adapt to evolving organizational needs and priorities by taking on additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 15+ years experience in healthcare. Ideal candidates will have a combination of senior-level experience and expertise in health care strategy, business development, management consulting, health care finance, and operations.
- 7+ years of experience in Medicare Stars performance and/or value-based care and “provider enablement”
- Relentless focus on data, using numbers to guide strategic decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to successfully navigate and manage relationships across all levels, both upward and downward.
- Experience with collaborating and partnering with external stakeholders at an executive-level
- Demonstrated leadership ability to think strategically and implement tactically to consistently deliver results; well-developed skills in diplomacy and collaboration.
- Strong vision and belief in tech-enablement of the company’s products to enable consistent results at scale and reduced operating costs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical degree (RN, APRN, PA, MD, DO) and relevant experience in clinical practice, preferably in the primary care setting
- Master’s degree or other advanced degree(s) in business, health administration and/or public policy, or other relevant fields.
- Prior experience working in both a provider setting — e.g. a clinical practice, a value-based care enabler, or similar — and a health plan setting
Physical Requirements:
- This remote role requires prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- This role requires up to 20% travel.
