Job description: A busy and high-paced internal medicine office. We are looking for a bilingual medical assistant. Our team works consists of multiple physicians and mid levels. We are looking for an experience certified medical assistant that is familiar with Eclinical Works EMR system.

Pay is depending on experience.

Work Location: In person

Duties:

    • Assists in preparing for patient appointments by reviewing and updating patient records prior to appointment. This includes checking for updates of recent test results, lab results and correspondence. Also reviews patient record in ECW (E-clinical) to determine services and whether referrals are in process or have been completed since last visit.
    • Maintain exam rooms according to protocols: Clean rooms between patient exams to ensure patients' comfort and compliance with OSHA standards. Ensures all necessary supplies are stocked. Promptly reports when supplies are low and works with nursing staff to ensure timely reordering has been completed.
    • Appropriately prepares patient for visit and alerts physician when patient is ready to be seen. The MA keeps the patient updated on the status of their appointment and instructs patient as to general clinic policies.
    • Provides initial medical screening: Greets patients and directs to appropriate exam room. Takes weight, height, temp, blood pressure, and basic medical history; accurately documents in medical chart (ECW) according to generally accepted medical standards.
    • Assists physician or nurse upon request during examination of patient and according to generally accepted medical standards. Practices universal precautions with respect to established safety protocols. Ensures clinical areas are organized with respect of standards in safety and quality patient care. Works collaboratively with Clinical staff and other departments in problem solving and providing quality patient care
    • Utilizes time in a constructive and efficient manner by assisting in such duties as restocking rooms, sterilize area, follow-up on calls to patients and any other duties assigned to MA.
    • Performs general clerical duties in support of patient services according to the needs of the clinic and as directed by Providers, and Practice Administrator. These include but are not limited to, photocopies, faxing, typing, completing forms, etc. Works with patient scheduling system to assist Patient Registration staff with the orderly and efficient patient flow.
    • Work with our Chronic Care Management team to meet the needs of patients that have chronic conditions.
    • Handle coordination of monitoring systems: Sleep Monitors and Holter Monitors to ensure these are being properly documented, returned and are consistently being rotated between patients.
    • Prepping and maintenance of patient chart and files electronically. This is includes but not limited to extracting patient visit information from hospital portals, ensuring scans/reports are uploaded into chart, and ensuring that the patients records are filed in our EMR system correctly.

Requirements:

    • Must be Certified Medical Assistant
    • Must have at minimum 1 year Eclinical Work Experience
    • Must be able to adapt to fast paced environment
