The Director of Strategic Marketing is responsible for leading and managing the Strategic Marketing team, including the Strategic Account Development Representative (SADR). This critical role drives company growth by developing and executing targeted Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies in close partnership with the Strategic Accounts Team. The Director will oversee the design and implementation of integrated multi-channel campaigns focused on high-value enterprise accounts, converting top-tier prospects into engaged customers and building strong, personalized connections. This leader ensures seamless collaboration between marketing and Network Development, empowers the team, and delivers measurable results aligned with business objectives. 

We are flexible with geographic location—the ideal candidate can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or from our Bethesda, MD or Durham, NC offices.

Primary Duties:

    • Develop and implement strategic ABM programs that support business goals and drive growth in high-value enterprise segments. Oversee the creation and execution of integrated campaigns across digital, events, direct outreach, and GDR channels, in collaboration with Strategic Sales and other marketing functions.
    • Manage and inspire the Strategic Marketing and SADR teams, promoting alignment, collaboration, and high performance across all roles. Provide mentorship and professional development while fostering a results-driven environment.
    • Partner closely with Strategic Accounts Team, Portfolio Marketing, and Sales Operations to ensure cohesive go-to-market strategies, messaging, and target account engagement.
    • Utilize data and performance metrics to track the effectiveness of ABM and SADR initiatives. Analyze results, present outcomes, and optimize strategies for pipeline acceleration and conversion.
    • Stay current on industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance ABM programs and identify new growth opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or relevant, equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, business, finance, health care or related discipline
    • 12+ years of experience in marketing, business development or other field related capacity
    • 8+ years of experience managing a team

    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Demonstrated expertise designing and launching complex, personalized ABM campaigns in partnership with sales organizations.
    • Strong understanding of enterprise sales cycles, pipeline acceleration, and account-based engagement techniques.
    • Analytical and data-driven mindset; proficiency with CRM, marketing automation, and ABM platforms.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Experience guiding team development and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in strategic marketing and business development.

Physical Requirements:

    • Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
