Alice & Bob are a deep tech company going through an R&D stage to build the first fault-tolerant Quantum Computer. We secured 30 million USD in funding to further develop our unique technology.

We are a young team with some of the brightest scientific minds joining us straight from completing their PhD or university. Of course, we are serious about our mission and participation in the quantum race alongside tech giants like Google and IBM,, however we are also keen to create ever-lasting memories. Including lots of celebrations and fun, as we continue to have many successes along the way to our ultimate goal of building the first Universal, fault-tolerant Quantum Computer! Which can have large positive impact for humanity. Do you want to join a team that is trying to change the world?

As a member of the product team, you will support a broad range of Alice&Bob activities, as part of a small but talented team of 3 PMs, and interacting with a team of software developers.

Responsibilities

    • 50% of your time will be spent on internal tooling. Alice&Bob operates a suite of tools to manage our experiments, gather data and track our roadmap. This tool suite currently has simulation tools, and data management tools. It is about to be enriched with a collaboration tool (think an “experimental asset manager”)
    • 25% of your time will be dedicated to our external facing assets. Namely the UI and UX of the cloud access to our hardware and its supporting material.
    • Finally we would like you to help us add a graphical unity to our scientific communication. In the same ways that modern application have design systems, we are looking to implement a design system for Alice&Bob scientific papers and other publications based on existing brand guides
    • For all those projects, a high quality bar will be set. While the number of users will be small in all cases, the company believes a strong part of its image is associated with that position. Similar to what happens on the luxury market, we believe this position is not about volume but exquisite attention to details.

Requirements

    • You have 5+ years of experience in digital product design.
    • You have a strong aesthetic sense and ideally have worked on branding or design system projects in the past.
    • You like user research and do not shy away from interviewing experts in difficult topics (like quantum physics!).
    • You believe building internal tooling can be as rewarding as some mainstream apps, if the exigence for quality is there.
    • You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions.
    • You have experience designing user interfaces from start to finish, i.e. from zoning to minute UI details
    • You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own.
    • A scientific background or experience working with scientists is a plus.

Benefits

    • 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
    • Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for the die-hard bicycle users
    • Competitive health benefits with Alan
    • Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
    • Parental benefits with crèche support
    • Flexible remote policy, up to 25 % a month.
