About the role
As a Junior Scientist on the Application Team, you will design quantum algorithms to unlock applications for our fault-tolerant quantum computer. You'll ensure advances are well-documented and provide key operational support, becoming an expert in quantum algorithms and cat-based architectures.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate planning, execute team initiatives, and manage coordination efforts between the team and external departments.
- Generate educational and strategic resources for knowledge transfer across the business, clients, and the company at large.
- Own the maintenance and quality of team documentation.
- Perform essential research and synthesis on quantum computing literature to assess its technological and commercial potential.
- Manage knowledge and standards for internal software tooling.
- Work on team projects to optimize the implementation of quantum algorithms to our architecture, and challenge it.
- Work on the first unchallenged quantum advantage (as soon as Alice & Bob's hardware becomes available).
- Take part in scientific collaborations with academic and private partners.
Requirements
- A research Master's degree in quantum physics or related field.
- Research master-level internships.
- Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with software design and best practices.
- Understanding of quantum computing and error correction.
- Understanding of quantum chemistry or, condensed matter, nuclear physics or high energy physics.
- Affinity for education and communication with different audiences, experience with powerpoint.
- Ability to rapidly become an expert in a new technical topic.
