Alice&Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM. We are growing fast, securing 30 million USD of funding in 2022 to develop our unique technology.

We are 100 and counting, between physicists, PhDs, engineers and experienced business professionals, all united in reaching our ambitious goal. If you are an explorer, craving to challenge yourself and make quantum computing come true, come and join us!

As a Superconducting Qubit Nanofabrication Engineer, you will be in charge of fabricating and characterizing the superconducting cirquits.
The crux of building a Universal Quantum Computer is the quality of its individual components, the qubits. In this context, you will have to master advanced fabrication and characterization techniques to reach state-of-the-art performances. You will also work in close collaboration with our team of quantum physicists and microwave engineers to identify and pursue new development approaches.
The job implies frequent trips to partner technology platforms (Saclay, Paris) and work in cleanroom.

Responsibilities

    • Improving the current fabrication process to increase the quality and parameters reproducibility
    • Fabricating superconducting circuits in a cleanroom environment
    • Performing characterization of manufactured devices (SEM, AFM, basic room temperature measurements, etc.)
    • Conducting data analysis and writing analysis reports to the rest of the company, to help the definition of DoE and improvement plan

Main requirements

    • A phd or master’s degree in nanofabrication, physical characterization, semiconductors or equivalent
    • Several years of cleanroom experience
    • Significative experience with optical lithography, electron beam lithography, wet and dry chemical etching, thin film deposition
    • Knowledge of material and device characterization methods
    • Experience in fabricating superconducting circuits
    • Knowlegde of Python

Additionally, you are:

    • Meticulous and patient
    • Never satisfied just with good enough
    • Team-spirited, eager to share information, and curious of others’ work
    • Effective and independent in your work
