Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing  €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

The Calibration team responsibility is to automatize the calibrations of our main cat-qubit Quantum Processing Unit (QPU), to extract its maximum of performance and to maintain the QPU in working conditions. As a Senior Quantum Experimentalist, you will play an important role in optimizing and shaping the calibrations of the QPU. Your role will be to automatize the chip calibrations, to characterize and optimize the gates performance, and to maintain the QPU calibrations up to date. You will have the opportunity to work together with other top-level teams internally and represent scientific research of the company externally. By pushing the understanding and quality of large cat-based processor calibrations, your work will directly contribute to the technological roadmap of the company.

Responsibilities:

    • Define and optimize the processor automatic calibration graphs
    • Integrate new gate measurements and calibration methods in the cat qubit quantum processors
    • Contribute to the improvement of the experimental setups and tools.
    • Contribute to the expansion of the knowledge base of Alice & Bob
    • Report on experimental results internally and externally.
    • Manage external collaborations.

Requirements:

    • PhD + postdoc with 4+ years of experience of experimental work in quantum mechanics in the field of superconducting quantum circuits.
    • Microwave control and measurement of superconducting quantum circuits
    • Data analysis and comparison to theory or numerical simulations (preferably with Python)
    • Quantum gate design and benchmarking
    • Quantum error correction protocols
    • Scientific Writing

Benefits:

    • 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
    • Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for the die-hard bicycle users
    • Competitive health benefits with Helium/Axa
    • Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
    • Parental benefits with crèche support
    • Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month
    • Language courses covered by the company
    • Mental health support with moka.care
    • Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club

Recruitment:

    • Screening Call with Giusy, Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min)
    • Hiring Manager Interview with one of the Experimentalist Team Leader (45 min)
    • Technical Interview/Presentation with the Team (60 min)
    • Leadership and Fit Interview (45 min)
