Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!
As a Process Integration Engineer at Alice & Bob, you will play a key role in bridging design, front-end & back-end nanofabrication, and testing to optimize device performance and accelerate our path toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. You will contribute to yield optimization, being in charge of bringing data evidence to support process improvements and in charge of MES implementation to accelerate the transition from lab-scale fabrication to advanced prototype manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Yield Engineering & Data Analytics
- Perform advanced statistical analysis (JMP, Python) for process stability and variability control.
- In charge of yield monitoring, contribute to root cause analysis to identify systematic and random yield detractors, collaborating with FE & BE nanofabrication teams.
- In close collaboration with FE nanofabrication team, develop strategies to reduce inductance non-uniformity within wafer and across multiple wafers and improve qubit performance consistency (frequency targeting, coherence time, etc.).
- Process Integration & Continuous Improvement
- Define and maintain robust integration flows for front-end and back-end nanofabrication POR (process of reference), ensuring design-to-fab alignment.
- Establish Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines.
- Document and maintain integration process flows, yield dashboards, and process KPIs for process reviews.
- Failure Analysis
- Contribute to device failures investigation at both room and cryogenic temperatures using electrical test data, inline metrology, and advanced microscopy (SEM, AFM, etc.).
- Animate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving methodologies (5Whys, Ishikawa).
- MES Deployment & Process Automation
- In charge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) identification and implementation to enable full process traceability, workflow automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Build automated dashboards and visualization tools for real-time monitoring of fab performance and yield metrics.
Requirements:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor or superconducting nanofabrication, process integration, or 3D integration.
- Expertise in yield engineering, SPC, DOE, and statistical analysis tools (JMP, Python).
- Familiarity with fabrication and characterization of superconducting circuits, or cryogenic testing is a strong advantage.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (5Whys, FMEA, Ishikawa).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
Benefits:
- 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
- Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for the die-hard bicycle users
- Competitive health benefits with Helium/Axa
- Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
- Parental benefits with crèche support
- Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month
- Language courses covered by the company
- Mental health support with moka.care
- Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club
Recruitment Process:
- Screening Call with Giusy, Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min)
- Hiring Manager Interview with the Hiring Manager (45 min)
- Technical Interview/Presentation with the Team (60 min)
- Leadership and Fit Interview (45 min)
