About the role:
Are you a hands-on Data Lead ready for a unique challenge? We’re looking for someone to build and lead our data function from the ground up—designing the strategy, establishing best practices, and creating a high-performing team. You’ll work at the intersection of data engineering and quantum hardware, managing and making sense of the data output generated by our superconducting quantum chips. This role involves both establishing a high-performing team and mentoring them to achieve peak performance in all our data initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing Data Team that fosters a culture of collaboration and continuous innovation.
- Develop and implement a cutting-edge, scalable data architecture that supports current and future business needs.
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of data projects, guaranteeing timely completion and exceptional quality.
- Implement comprehensive data quality and governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Empower our teams to use data independently and gain valuable insights by leading data education throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in a professional data role, including at least 1 year in a team leadership position.
- Data Architecture and Engineering: Skilled in designing and implementing scalable data architectures, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration.
- Advanced Database Management: Expertise in data management, optimizing database performance, and managing both relational and non-relational databases.
- Programming and Scripting Languages: Proficient in programming languages such as Python and R, with strong capabilities in scripting for data manipulation, automation, and developing data-driven solutions.
- Team Management: Responsible for daily management of team resources, recruiting new team members, and overseeing technical topics.
- Experience in Project Management and Product Management able to align data initiatives with broader business and technical goals.
- Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
- Nice to have: Experience collaborating with Scientists and Researchers.
