Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing 30 million USD of funding in 2022 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

We are offering an internship opportunity focused on the improvement of the nano-fabrication process of superconducting circuits. The role will balance between two different technological developments :
-          The first one consists in structuring the failure analysis approach in the nanofabrication team, by developing and implementing characterization steps during the nano-fabrication process (Ellipsometry, SEM, AFM, etc.).
-          The second objective of this internship is to optimize the reactive plasma etching step to improve the coherence times of superconducting qubits.
The nanofabrication facilities the intern will use for the project are located at C2N (Saclay) and LPENS (Paris).

Responsibilities

    • Implementation and analysis of ellipsometry steps in the nano-fabrication process.
    • AFM and SEM characterization of the processed samples
    • Reactive Etching of superconducting Ta thin films and it’s structural characterization.
    • Collaboration with Industrialization, Micro-Wave, Infrastructure and Experimental teams

Requirements

    • Bachelor or Master in Physics or Material science
    • Experienced in clean work or material structure characterization
    • basic knowledge of superconductivity
    • ambitious, curious and honest
